| | | Extra info | It is reported that the discoverer of the mineral waters of Val Bognanco, in 1863, drinking from a source (source: San Lorenzo, Lindos) confided with the local chaplain, Don Tichelli. After analyzing the water and discovering the therapeutic properties, Tichelli bought the field and the source, starting the exploitation of the source and locating others, starting to market it with his company Tichelli & C. under the name of "Acqua Gazosa di Bognanco".
The fortune of Bognanco's mineral water began in 1892, thanks to the Emilio Cavallini, who after curing thanks to the aforementioned waters, proclaimed new springs, founded in 1906 the Società Anonima per Azioni Acque e Terme di Bognanco. From that moment on, the industrial exploitation of the Bognanco waters is started, surrounded by a series of tourist and accommodation facilities that have survived over time. The company was acquired by internationally renowned industrialists. Among the sources, a thermal pool was built. Of the Terme di Bognanco, the Fonte San Lorenzo is the most famous.
Bognanco became a spa resort and its water was the first to be bottled by a fully automated process in 1929.
In the year 2000, the structures of hydroponic and thermal treatments were renewed.
